Still going

We made it through the day long training for adoption. Not a whole lot of new information but it did cover a couple of subjects I was worried about. It went over a subject I never even considered too. No, we still aren't approve but it's really close. We just have to make sure one of our references sends in their letter then we have our home inspection and approval. Brian reminded Brother Olsen about it again Sunday.

Nothing else happening here. There was suppose to be a Recongition night for the Activites day girls that I had to help with this week but they decieded to postpone it for a couple of weeks (and I had so much fun putting the invitation together). Brian took another math test last Thursday and is positive he got another 100%. He finds out tomorrow at class for sure. That's all for now!

No more stubbed toes

We haven't be doing much lately but I wanted to update the blog. We just got back from our FSA (Families Supporting Adoption) meeting which was about blogging safely. With adoption profiles online now they wanted to be sure we all knew the sort of things that can be posted without worry of identity theft.
The picture is of one of the changes we made to our living room since Mom and Dad were here last summer. This is the fish tank stand we asked Brian's Dad to make us so that we didn't keep stubbing our toes on the other one. We are both really pleased with it. When the warm weather comes back, we'll finish staining it.
Not much else happening. It was a pretty normal, noisy new year for us and things are back to normal for us at work.

St George Blizzard

We had the biggest snow storm I have seen in St George since I moved here 5 years ago last Wednesday. It was bad enough that school was canceled and that never happens in St. George. Brian said he hasn't seen it snow this much since he first moved to Hurricane. We took the first picture at midnight Wednesday as it was still snowing. The second is from Friday afternoon. Needless to say that I have been enjoying my hot cocco and warm blankets and trying hard not to worry about Christmas gifts this past week.

Our Christmas tree is up early this year. (Well, early for us as we did wait till 1 week after Thanksgiving to put it up.) Aimee hopes to get me to write the Christmas letter early as well (that is before Christmas Eve). I received a phone call from my little niece Isabella (4 years old). She seems to have remembered that back in the summer we gave her a long yummy red a white stick and wanted to know what it was called. So let’s all remember the good things at this time of year: our friends and family where ever they may be, the spirit of giving to those around us, and most important those yummy red and white sticks.

The last one married

The last of Brian's siblings is married. Brian's brother Mark got married on November 22. It was a BIG wedding since the bride and the groom are from this area. Brian did all the engagment and Bridal shots for them. He also put together a really nice slide show for them with all the pictures he took. It was a pretty elaborate display. Brian got a lot of compliments on his pictures. A couple of professional photograghers even commented on how well he did. I always told Brian he was a good photographer.

Goodbye, Tommy

We had an interesting anniversy this year. We spent it in Provo saying goodbye to Tommy. He is off to Argentina for two years. It was a lot harder to say goodbye then I was expecting. I think he'll do really well as a missionary. I hope he has fun and learns alot while he away from us.
Since then we haven't been doing much. We finally got the last of the paperwork in to LDS family services for adoption. Now we have to fill out a couple of forms online and then get through a home inspection. I am pushing to get it all finished and have us on the approved and waiting list before Christmas.
Oh, we got the termites taken care of. I am putting the room back together slowly. One good thing about the termites getting in is that I may actually get the shelving in the closet that I've been bugging bothering Brian for.

EEWW!!!

We discovered TERMITES last night! They came up through the floor and started eating some of our pictures and the bottoms of the bookcases we have in our computer room. There weren't very many and,except for the pictures, really haven't done much damage. Brian thinks we caught the infestation early enough that it won't cost much to get rid of the pests.
